The Hill Gallop
The 1 mile hill gallop is known as one of the very best in the south west. The first 4 furlongs are flat followed by a steep climb up the next 4 furlongs to give you the flexibility to work on speed or fitness. This gallop has successfully trained grade 1 winners and is a brilliant gallop to give your horse a thorough workout.

The Round Gallop
The 1 mile round gallop is a undulating loop based in a dramatic natural amphitheatre. This gallop is fantastic for stamina work or for young horses learning about balance and handling undulations. It rides much softer than the hill gallop and has different characteristics all together.

The Schooling Ground
The Schooling ground consists of brilliantly presented hurdles and fences on old Wiltshire turf. The 4 hurdles begin with the new style rubber padded hurdles over the first flight before transitioning to the traditional style birch hurdles. They’re 4 sections wide creating a inviting and safe schooling ground for young horses or upsides work.
The chase fences consist of 3 nicely presented birch fences beginning with a standard fence and ending with a open ditch. These fences are designed to build confidence and give horses a positive introduction to jumping regulation fences.

Hours of Operation
Our gallops are available to hire 7 days a week, from 12pm until dusk, light permitting.
Please ensure there is sufficient natural light to complete your session safely.
How It Works
- Book a 1 hour slot through our online booking system, each booking slot is private.
- ยฃ12 per horse for 1 hour slot
- Parking. Please follow directions towards the gallop, park in the designated parking area and help yourself to the gallop.
- Once you’ve finished your session, please use the wash bays provided, ensure any droppings are cleared up and we will look forward to welcoming you next time.
- Please remember there is CCTV in operation at all times.

Conditions of Hire
To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all riders, please note the following:
- All use of the gallops is strictly at your own risk.
- Riders must be mindful of other riders that may also be using the gallops.
- Horses should be fit, healthy, and suitably prepared for fast work where applicable.
- Please arrive and leave within your booked time slot.
- Ensure good visibility and do not ride in low or unsafe light.
- Children under 18 must be supervised by a responsible adult.
- Riders must wear appropriate safety equipment, including a riding hat to current standards and suitable footware.
- Anyone causing damage to the gallops or facilities may be held responsible for repair costs.
- Horses use the gallops at the owners risk
- Comley Racing Ltd will not be responsible for any injury, loss or damage to riders, horses or property.
- Please park in the designated parking slots and ONLY use the gallop that you have booked to use
- By completing your booking, you agree to the terms and conditions
