Last Monday I headed to Ireland to look at 20+ horses spread over 6 different yards. A enjoyable day great to meet some characters. David Bass rode the horses while i watched and filmed. Hopefully we can add a few more to our string. If you would be interested, please get in touch.
Last weeks runners were perhaps a week to put a line through….
Just Her Type ran at Lingfield and hated the testing ground. She’ll look for options on spring ground going forward.
Trudie Glen ran a much improved race although twisted a shoe and trod on the toe clip during the race. She finished rather sore but luckly our farrier, Phil Brush, is brilliant at putting the wheels back on and was in first thing on Thursday morning to make sure her foot was going the right direction.
Saturday morning was a busy one with owners.
The Green Army Syndicate arrived to see their new horse Goodbyemick.
Louis Gill and Emily Williams came to watch Pretty Punctual gallop and their winning point to pointer Boss Man Fred have a canter followed by lunch down The Plough in Ford.
Kendal Tyre and Carole Woods also joined us to see their 4yo Cannock Chase X Shannon Lodge canter and also came for lunch. A thoroughly enjoyable morning. We encourage owners to come to the yard to see their horses on the gallops, meet the team behind the scenes and to explore the local pubs/restaurants in the cotswold area. Its all part of the journey of racehorse ownership and the thrills and spills along the way to the track.
A few runners coming up this week
Pretty Punctual heads to Taunton on Tuesday in the Maiden Hurdle to build on her effort last time. David Bass rides for The One Eyed Squirrels Syndicate.
Chaddesley Corbett P2P bumper winner, Lady Fortune, runs on Thursday at Huntingdon for BDR Syndicates.
Land Girls Luck also runs on Thurdsay at Huntingdon for Richard Bailey and Stephen Mattick for her debut over hurdles. She ran a very nice race at Newcastle and hopefully a step up in trip and some hurdles will improve her further… David couldn’t pull her up after the winning post at Newcastle!
Rockadenn is also entered at Fontwell on Sunday.
Finally, a tragic day for the racing community yesterday with Michael O’Sullivan losing his life after a horrendous fall at Thurles. Only 24 years old and a fantastic jockey with his finest hour coming at the 2023 Cheltenham Festival. I didn’t know Michael personally but I have seen the enormous amount of tributes from the racing community and he was certainly a well respected, talented young man taken far too soon. Our thoughts are with his family and those closest to him.
Have a great week

The Green Army Syndicate

Apache Tribe… one of the horses we saw at Dennis Murphys

Talk To The Boss… another lovely horse we saw at Marie Hardings yard. I like the name!
