See Blue is a 3-year-old gelding who has already proven himself to be
competitive on the flat, having won first time out at Kempton and finishing
second on his next two starts. Having shown speed, stamina and a great
attitude, he’s an exciting dual-purpose horse for the future which will be
competitive in some top races going forward.
The Pedigree
The Sire: See Blue is by the well thought of Blue Point. Blue Point himself was
an extremely impressive 6 furlong horse having reached a rating of 124 and
won over 2 million in prize money. As a sire, he has produced a huge number
of top-quality flat runners and jumps performers are starting to make a name
for themselves with a limited pool of horses. Willie Mullins trained Blue
Lemons which won a grade 2 at Fairyhouse and closer to home, Only One
Blue picked up black type in a graded race at Aintree in December.
The Dam: See Blue is out of a likeable mare called Dew Line. Dew Line was a
successful and consistent racehorse having won 4 races between 1 mile and
1 mile 4 furlongs reaching a rating of 94 with an emphasis on stamina and a
tremendous winning attitude. She has produced 3 foals, all being winners with
Tollard Royal winning 4 races in France and Miakoda winning 3 in Britain. The
pedigree goes back to multiple group 1 winner Grand Lodge and Big Time.
Form To Date
See Blue has run 4 times to date, having won first time out at Kempton under
Finley Marsh, staying on all the way to the line and showing a tough will to win. He then stepped up in grade to run at Southwell and Haydock finishing a close
second on both of those runs against some good horses. He has an official
rating of 86 on the flat which would suggest this exciting horse will be quality
enough to take us to some of the big days under both codes.
We aim to run See Blue on the flat and juvenile hurdling. With speed and
stamina, he should stay 1m2 on the flat, and with size and scope, 2 miles over
hurdles.
