Monday 24th February

It feels like February has absolutely flown by!

Our runners ran ok this week;

Lady Fortune struggled to go the fast pace at Huntingdon. We will look to step her up in trip going forward

Land Girls Luck ran well for a very long way and looked to play a big part when making a shuddering mistake 3 from the finish and knocked her to a standstill. Shell improve for her first run over hurdles and looks an exciting horse for the future

Rockadenn travelled strongly and jumped well but looked one paced when they quickened away from him up the hill at Fontwell. He used to be a very good horse but looks like he needs further and better ground these days. We’ll find an opportunity for him over a longer distance and hopefully the handicapper. might help him out a bit next week too.

Moving on, no runners this week.

On Wednesday we took a few horses to the bowl in Lambourn and what a fantastic facility Will and his team maintain. We use Lambourn gallops regularly but it was my first time using the bowl which a grass loop with 8 flights of hurdles. Will drove me around the estate and we had a very enjoyable morning

Friday was spent at Cheltenham sales trying to buy a nice horse from a select group. We shortlisted 3 and had a go trying to buy them but just missed out… We also had a little go on Boss Man Fred‘s sister which looked the bargain of the sale considering what BMF and his sister Wild Romance have achieved.

A new addition this week… a new puppy currently called Lickie as all she does is lick everything… Im sure a proper name will come in time but while she’s not chewing my shoes she can be called Lickie!

Finally we have added a new horse on our For Sale section. A gorgeous Capri 3yo gelding. Please check it out if you haven’t already. He looks a lovely type which we like a lot! Closely related to grade 1 winner Ahoy Senor and hopefully he will follow in his footsteps… we can dream!

Have a lovely week
