Monday 3rd March 2025

Great to finally get our first winner on the board at Huntingdon under rules in the shape of Wearapinkribbon owned by Richard Shepperd/SW Racing on Sunday.

We fancied Wearapinkribbon and Liam Harrison gave him a wonderful ride to win by a neck. A few sore heads in the morning but plenty to celebrate. He will now be freshened up ready for his next engagement.

Huntingdon did a sterling job in looking after us all yesterday. Richard organised a box for his friends and family to enjoy the day and the team at the racecourse were fantastic. A lovely 3 course meal and plenty of fizz after for the celebrations. My old boss, Kim Bailey (who writes a much better blog than mine!), was the first to shake my hand and congratulate me which was a lovely gesture. Only 1499 more winners to go to catch up with Mr Baileys career wins, although he has got a few years on me!

A few entries this week…

Just Her Type is entered at Ayr on Friday and Saturday

Wearapinkribbon has a possible option to follow up at Hereford on Saturday… we will see how he comes out of Sunday

Headoverhinds also holds an entry in the novice handicap hurdle at Saturday at Hereford

Plenty of visitors to the yard last week… Louis Gill popped in to see Pretty Punctual and point to pointer Boss Man Fred while filming our new promo video

Alison Sargaent, Aimee Jones and Glynn Jones called in to see their horses Gallant Geronimo and Au Fleuron

Rachel Surman also called in to see Boss Man Fred and bring in plenty of treats for the team

Kerry Wilmot also called in to see her son Jack Wilmot riding out and took some lovely pictures

Cheltenham Festival is only around the corner and the atmosphere on the yard is building up. Being local to Cheltenham it is such an exciting time and a week we all look forward to. We try to make the week as enjoyable as we can for our owners and we will be welcoming in visitors to see the horses all through the week – all very exciting. Also great news through this week that Jack Kennedy will be back from a nasty injury to be riding at Cheltenham.

Have a great week,

Max
